Congratulations on finishing the program. Way to go!

I really hope your journey was amazing.  A big purpose of this program was to help you gain awareness about what the REAL issues are when it comes to food and your weight and to discover what is REALLY going on behind your cravings and emotional eating, what stressors are big factors for you, what childhood events and traumas may be playing a role and so on.

Because here’s how it works.  When you really understand WHY you have cravings and binges and overeating, you can begin to use the tools and techniques you learned in this program to curb your cravings.  You’ll also be able to identify what is REALLY going on at a deeper level so that you can start healing the hurts that cause the emotional eating in the first place.   As the need to use food to cope with life or to tranquilize painful emotions diminishes, the physical weight starts to release.

The Next Step … Reflection

The next step on this journey is a bit more reflection.  It’s always good to pause and reflect upon where you’ve been and set a course for where you would like to be.    Set aside some time to answer the questions on this page.  Your responses will give you great insight!

If you find that you need more help, please let me know. We’ve got some really great options.  The next step for many people is our “Conquer Your Cravings, Emotional Eating and Food Addictions” program.  This course is amazing because in addition to lots of support you get eight live coaching classes with me and my colleagues.  Anisa is a Georgia licensed psychotherapist and Certified Addiction Counselor as well as a Master Addictions Counselor.  She has worked in the field of substance abuse and emotional wellness since 1990 and brings much expertise to the program.  The course also features Dawn Hurlebaus, who is the owner of Solace Path and Slimpressions, and our resident self-confidence and self-worthiness coach. You are going to love her energy!

You can find more information for this program on the home page of this website under the “Our Services” tab.  I also offer private one-on-coaching and “boutique-style” service with my Love Your Body, Love Your Life program.  If you feel like you have some deeper issues and adverse childhood events that are sabotaging your weight loss or you’d simply like to take your self-care and healing to the next level, this is the program for you.  You can find out more about this program under the “Our Services” tab on the home page and choosing “Love Your Body, Love Your Life”.

I wish you great success in creating the life – and body – you desire and deserve!

  • What is the most surprising thing you learned from this program?

  • What do you feel like are your top 3 “issues”.  Your answers might be something like emotional eating when stressed, eating when lonely or bored, childhood events and/or traumas, low self-esteem, not loving or accepting self, body image issues and so on:

  • How would you rate your BELIEF that you can lose weight?  0 = I don’t believe I can and 10 = I strongly believe I can.

  • How would you rate your BELIEF that you can keep weight off once you lose it?  0 = I don’t believe I can and 10 = I strongly believe I can.

  • On a scale of zero to ten, with zero being “easy” and 10 being nearly impossible.   0 = very hard, 10 = easy

  • When you visualize yourself at your ideal body weight/goal weight (either by looking in a mirror or seeing the number on the scale) what do you see and how do you feel?  For example, you do you feel confident and excited or do you have feelings of fear or not being safe?

  • Take a moment to reflect upon the negatives aspects of weight loss. This might sound kind of silly, but sometimes there are underlying reasons why we might not want to lose weight.  These reasons can include things such as:  I would have to buy new clothes; I won’t know who I am at a lower weight; I might have to address other issues in my life if Iose weight; and so on.

  • Take a moment to reflect upon what the positives around weight loss for you.  These might include things like:  I will be able to move better; I will have more energy; I will feel more confident in my body; and so on.

  • Where do you want to be with respect to your weight in 6 months?  In 1 year?  In 5 years?

  • Where do you want to be with respect to your power over your cravings and emotional eating?  What does that look like and feel like for you?  What steps would you like to choose to make this happen?
